IFS Therapy

Healing Begins Within

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps individuals heal emotional wounds by exploring the different “parts” of themselves. Developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, IFS is based on the understanding that we all have an internal system made up of different parts—each with its own voice, emotion, and purpose.

IFS offers a compassionate and non-pathologizing way to understand the complexity of human experience. It’s especially effective for trauma, as it gently guides us toward inner harmony without retraumatization.

What Is IFS Therapy?

Rather than seeing symptoms or behaviors as problems to eliminate, IFS views them as protective responses—parts of us that developed to help us survive pain, trauma, or neglect. These parts may take on roles such as the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the avoider, or the perfectionist.

IFS therapy helps us:

  • Identify and connect with these parts

  • Understand their intentions and fears

  • Build a relationship with them from the perspective of the core Self—the calm, compassionate, centered aspect within all of us

Healing occurs when we listen to these parts, help them release burdens they've carried for too long, and restore balance within the system.

IFS Can Support You With:

  • Trauma and Complex PTSD

  • Anxiety and self-doubt

  • Inner criticism and shame

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Relationship struggles

  • Feeling stuck, fragmented, or overwhelmed

  • Grief, anger, or suppressed emotions

A Compassionate Path Toward

Wholeness

IFS invites you to turn inward—not to relive trauma, but to listen to the parts of you that have been working hard to keep you safe. My role is to support you in navigating this inner world with curiosity and care, so you can begin to experience more ease, clarity, and emotional freedom.

IFS blends beautifully with the somatic and trauma-focused work I offer, supporting deep, sustainable healing at the pace that feels right for you.

If you're ready to begin exploring your internal world with more understanding and compassion, I’m here to guide you.
