Somatic Experiencing Therapy
Healing Trauma Through the Wisdom of the Body
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE is based on the understanding that trauma is not just a psychological experience—it also lives in the body.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses primarily on thoughts and emotions, Somatic Experiencing works gently with the nervous system to help restore balance, release trauma-related tension, and support the body’s natural ability to heal.
How Somatic Experiencing Works
Trauma can overwhelm the nervous system, leaving the body in a prolonged state of fight, flight, or freeze. Over time, this can lead to symptoms like anxiety, chronic tension, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, or a feeling of being “stuck.”
In Somatic Experiencing, we slow down and attune to the body’s subtle signals—tracking sensations, breath, movement, and internal responses. Through this process, we begin to discharge unresolved survival energy and support the body in completing what it couldn’t during the original overwhelming experience.
This work is gentle, titrated, and client-centered, meaning we go at your pace and focus on building safety and resilience first.

A Safe Place to Come Home to Yourself
In our work together, I’ll guide you in developing deeper self-awareness and attunement to your body’s cues. This can open up new pathways to healing, insight, and emotional regulation—not through force or analysis, but by helping your body do what it naturally knows how to do: find balance and restore safety.
Somatic therapy offers a powerful invitation to come home to yourself—to feel grounded, present, and alive again.
